Raheen Woods Hotel Weddings

15th May 2017
One of those wedding days where I was pretty anxious about the day ahead......and not long into the day you find your stride and realize that there was nothing to worry about in the first place....just self induced pressure!
Mark is my first cousin and I didn't want to let him down, or any of my relations for that matter with regards to their wedding photographs!
Really good start to the day in Woodlands Greene in Renmore where Michelle was getting ready. Michelle's parents Pat & Bernie are two lovely people who were most welcoming and factor in meeting up with Tommy Hannon from Molten Sky Media looking after the Video, my nerves disappeared pretty quickly!
It's great on wedding day when your working along with other wedding providers that have no ego and are as interested as you are in providing the best possible results for the bride and groom on their big day!
When I arrived at the Garrison Church, it was a lovely treat to bump into someone that I cross paths with regularly, the excellent Nicola McGuire providing the church muisc....and indeed we crossed paths again that night where her band the Weightless Cosmonauts had the floor rocking!
Michelle is such a lovely person to be around and someone whose company I'm very comfortable in. One thing I found out on wedding day is how unassuming she is....she's a lady in every way and not too comfortable with the spot light on her. For example when we arrived down at Ballyloughane beach after the ceremony for some photos, the rain was coming down oretty heavy, and I'd say that Michelle would have been as happy to skip the photos and head back to the Raheen Woods Hotel for the ceremony! With a small bit of cajoling and some guidance from the grooms men (my cousins Gary, Charlie David and Michelle's bother Mathew),we waited for the showers to pass before running off some shots. I appreciated the p[atience of the Bridal party, the groomsmen that I just mentioned, and bridesmaids Gemma, Aoife, Niamh Seodhna (who was a bridesmaid again a couple of weeks later for another wedding I shot)....it was cool weather with a bit of bite in the wind, but not one complaint from anyone and I'm truly grateful for that! I almost forgot to commend the superb Edwina Kelly who looked after Michelle's make up, and indeed Louise from Bliss Bridal who were responsible for having Michelle looking the awesome bride that she was....well done girls!
Brian Jarvis of Corporate Wedding Cars Galway (another gentleman and true team player on wedding day) ensured that we arrived safely and in plenty of time back at the hotel.
Once back at the hotel, I could relax for a bit and enjoy the company of a lot of my uncles and aunts.....great to shoot the breeze with them all as the opportunities for doing this seem to be fewer and fewer as life passes us by.
Thanks Michelle and Mark for being super to be with on your wedding day.....two good people who have very close knit families and it was uplifting to be around you both on your big day. Please God we'll cross paths a bit more regularly from now on, and in the mean time, mind yourselves!
