Linda and Mikey's wedding in Headford Co Galway with a salthill Hotel reception.

14th June 2017
Linda and Mikey's wedding was brilliant.....a lot of things falling conveniently for me! Linda's home being about 5 minutes from mine, the ceremony taking place in St Mary's Church in Headford with the "happy out" Fr Ray, Caroline Coyne looking after Linda's make up, Nicola McGuire (accompanied by Dave Mongan) providing the awesome church music....and a hotel that I work quite a lot in The Salthill Hotel being our reception location!
Linda is a very jovial person, and indeed the type of bride that you feel comfortable with....and thankfully that was they type of persona that she displayed on her wedding day! Along with her bridesmaids Carol & Carmel, they were having the banter with the excellent Caroline Coyne who had them looking radiant! This was also my first occasion working with On Track Films and I enjoyed Cal's company.....mutual respect for the jobs we had to do and we hit it off early that day in Linda's home.
I normally don't get overly excited about wedding cars....but the Bentley thah Linda and Mikey had arranged from Elaine in Heritage Wedding Cars was truly studding....reminded me of something from an older James Bond Movie!
Mikey was with his groomsmen Gareth and Stephen when I arrived at the church, and also in good spirits just like Linda's home....indeed Fr Ray was a perfect fit from them both....similar personalities!
As mentioned earlier, the excellent Nicola McGuire provided the church music...and ironically she had also covered the wedding that i was working at the previous day!
Linda was pretty punctual fair pay to the ceremony ran off swiftly and smoothly. It was a dry day, but pretty windy so we used the shelter of the church for the family portraits and some bridal images before making the short spin to Ross Errilly for the bridal portraits. To say it was breezy in the abbey would have been a massive understatement.....unfortunately it was almost blowing us over while we were trying to work that we called a halt to it and decided we'd chance the park in Salthill instead. Bizarrely when we arrived in Salthill a half hour later, there wasn't a puff of wind....it truly was uncanny!
We used the gardens and the Prom for images before arriving in the excellent Salthill Hotel. Patrick and Valerie welcomed Linda & Mikey and ensured they had plenty of time with their family and friends before the bell was rung for the meal at 5.30. The Salthill Hotel is a "team hotel" ensuring that the bride and groom's requirements are their priority all day and at the same time communicate very well with wedding suppliers.
Thanks Linda and Mikey for trusting me with your wedding photography....I enjoyed your jovial and happy out manner and you made my day at work extremely enjoyable. Until we cross paths again, mind yourselves!!
